I due sono uniti nel lavoro ma anche nel privato: Tessa è profondamente innamorata di David; per David Tessa è soltanto un'amante notturna. In questa relazione lei vede una speranza per un futuro insieme, speranza che muore quando David mette fine alla loro storia. La delusione e la frustrazione prendono piede nella vita della protagonista, che riceve solidarietà e pronto soccorso dall'amica del cuore e dalla cugina. Saranno loro due a consigliarle di dare un taglio al passato, e senza somatizzare il dolore, spingerla a fare un viaggio per svagarsi un po' e ritrovare la felicità perduta. Tessa si fa convincere dalle sue strampalate consigliere e decide di partire di partire per Dublino, dove incontra Jamie, ragazzo semplice e romantico che le ruberà per la seconda volta il cuore. Ma non tutto è come sembra, la felicità per Tessa non è arrivata in maniera definitiva. James Rollins: Artico (romanzo techno-thriller)
Vendo un romanzo techno-thriller del scritto da James Rollins, Artico (Ice Hunt). È stato pubblicato in italiano per la prima volta nel . Trama: Artico, come già spiega il titolo, è ambientato al Polo Nord. Durante una missione di esplorazione scientifica, il sottomarino Polar Sentinel individua all'interno di un Iceberg, una base artica abbandonata, la Base Grendel russa, al cui interno di trovano decine di cadaveri ed un sommergibile russo della Seconda guerra mondiale congelato. Inizia così l'esplorazione, che dura quasi due mesi, mentre il governo di Mosca invia il suo più potente sottomarino, il Drakon. Alla base, per diversi motivi, giungono anche Craig, un giornalista, e Matthew, una guardia forestale dell'Alaska, ex Berretto Verde che ha partecipato a diverse missioni in Somalia. Assieme a loro giunge anche il Drakon per recuperare i corpi ritrovati nella base. Ma la verità viene ben presto a galla: i russi giungono alla base con intenzione estremamente bellicose, attaccano il contingente americano uccidendo diversi marinai, più che mai decisi a far sprofondare l'intera struttura in acqua per nascondere la verità su orribili esperimenti che i loro scienziati compivano su civili inuit. Ma oltre ai russi, nella stazione si nascondo enormi creature predatrici, che sono state risvegliate dal loro letargo a causa dell'attività degli americani... a complicare ulteriormente la situazione anche l'arrivo della Delta Force. I protagonisti si trovano così in un conflitto a fuoco incrociato, con un solo obiettivo in testa: fuggire dalla base, prima che diventi la loro tomba.
