He began singing in his church choir as a freshman in college and considered studying for the music ministry. However, the Lord had other plans, and it was only after forty-eight years-many of which were passed as lay song leader, occasional supply as choir leader and in serving several churches as interim music minister-that Jack was called as Minister of Music to a small church in Metropolitan Atlanta. He currently earns his livelihood repairing, restoring and re-caning chairs, rockers and wicker furniture.
