The Song Remains the Same è il titolo del primo album live della band inglese Led Zeppelin registrato al Madison Square Garden del nel loro tour per la promozione di Houses of the Holy. La voce graffiante di Robert Plant, il melodioso ed aggressivo suono di Jimmy Page, i bassi di John Paul Jones e le percussioni di John Bonham raggiungono livelli ragguardevoli proprio nelle loro esibizioni live. Tra i brani inclusi Stairway to Heaven, una delle più celebri canzoni hard-rock di tutti i tempi, che Page suona, rispetto alla versione studio, con una "Gibson SG Double Neck" (precisamente Gibson EDS-), dotata di un due manici, uno a 6 e uno a 12 corde. Perfezionata in modo particolare anche Whole Lotta Love, con l'aggiunta di un tributo a Boogie Chillen, famoso pezzo Rock 'n Roll di John Lee Hooker. Tra le altre note da segnalare la meravigliosa versione di No Quarter,che vede un assolo mistico e sensazionale con il suo Fender Rhodes di John Paul Jones e Dazed and Confused, una versione di quasi mezz'ora con dieci minuti di assolo di archetto di violino che Jimmy Page porta alle stelle in questa versione. This book offers an interpretation that is disciplined by the long hours, days, and months spent in Havens, and by the personal stance the author brings to the study of a place and its people. This book tells the story of Havens from the perspective of what it is, of the present in all of its complexity, and as a window on what might exist in the future in this border community. It begins with a description of Havens and its inevitable interdependence with its Mexican neighbors, followed by an introduction of three cultural mediators--two students and one teacher from Havens High School. Focusing on the relationship between the use of Spanish and English, the language landscape in the community and in the schools is laid out. This is followed by a specific description of the development of bilingual education programs in the district, and an introduction of the social structure of the high school, describing the students' interactions across cultural lines. For Gen. Lam Quang Thi, the twentieth century had only twenty-five years: from to , during which the Republic of Vietnam and its army grew up and collapsed with the fall of Saigon. This is the story of those twenty-five years. General Thi fought in the Indochina War as a battery commander on the side of the French. When Viet Minh aggression began after the Geneva Accords, he served in the nascent Vietnamese National Army, and his career covers this army's entire lifespan. He was deputy commander of the 7th Infantry Division, and in he assumed command of the 9th Infantry Division. In , at the age of thirty-three, he became one of the youngest generals in the Vietnamese Army. He participated in the Tet Offensive before being removed from the front lines for political reasons. When North Vietnam launched the Great Offensive, he was brought back to the field and eventually promoted to commander of an Army Corps Task Force along the Demilitarized Zone. With the fall of Saigon, he left Vietnam and emigrated to the United States. Like his tactics during battle, General Thi pulls no punches in his denunciation of the various regimes of the Republic and complacency and arrogance toward Vietnam in the policies of both France and the United States. Without lapsing into bitterness, this is finally a tribute to the soldiers who fell on behalf of a good cause.
