Le tecniche di difesa dalle aggressioni fisiche sono molteplici e variano da scuola a scuola. Tutte però hanno in comune la ricerca della semplicità di esecuzione e l'efficacia. È importante che una tecnica di difesa entri nella memoria fisica di chi la esegue, cioè deve essere eseguita spontaneamente; la tecnica non deve essere pensata, deve essere eseguita e basta, come se il corpo reagisse per istinto.
