"Technology and Society, "second edition, continues the rich tradition of Canadian writing on technology found in the work of Harold Innis, Marshall McLuhan, George Grant, Ursula Franklin, and others. Like the first edition, the book begins and ends with an attempt to understand Grant's insistence that technology is a "fate," connected, in the anthropological sense, with the evolution of societies. In between, the book examines the social and historical foundation for the development and diffusion of technology in the Canadian context. The first three chapters define the phenomenon of technology by classifying the vast array of tools and techniques. They offer a conceptual scheme for understanding the interrelationship between society and technology and for the diffusion of technologies. Subsequent chapters shift to looking at the consequences of technology. The linkage between technology and economic development is explored, as is the significance of a technocratic value system. The relationship between work and technology?the significance of "automation," of a "branch plant" economy, "R&D," and communication?is examined. The final chapters consider new leading technologies such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology, as well as public attitudes towards technology.
Gardeners of Eden: Rediscovering Our Importance to Nature

The Song Remains the Same è il titolo del primo album live della band inglese Led Zeppelin registrato al Madison Square Garden del nel loro tour per la promozione di Houses of the Holy. La voce graffiante di Robert Plant, il melodioso ed aggressivo suono di Jimmy Page, i bassi di John Paul Jones e le percussioni di John Bonham raggiungono livelli ragguardevoli proprio nelle loro esibizioni live. Tra i brani inclusi Stairway to Heaven, una delle più celebri canzoni hard-rock di tutti i tempi, che Page suona, rispetto alla versione studio, con una "Gibson SG Double Neck" (precisamente Gibson EDS-), dotata di un due manici, uno a 6 e uno a 12 corde. Perfezionata in modo particolare anche Whole Lotta Love, con l'aggiunta di un tributo a Boogie Chillen, famoso pezzo Rock 'n Roll di John Lee Hooker. Tra le altre note da segnalare la meravigliosa versione di No Quarter,che vede un assolo mistico e sensazionale con il suo Fender Rhodes di John Paul Jones e Dazed and Confused, una versione di quasi mezz'ora con dieci minuti di assolo di archetto di violino che Jimmy Page porta alle stelle in questa versione. Un'atmosfera surreale che simboleggia la pienezza della musica dei Led Zeppelin, ritratti, in questo periodo della loro carriera probabilmente al top della loro forma. Fantastico anche l'assolo di Bonham nel brano "Moby Dick", che dura quasi 15 minuti, ma non annoia mai, anzi regala continuamente emozioni, tanto per dimostrare che Bonham non dava alcun peso alla tecnica.

Vendo acquario da 60lt completo e funzionante in cui sono ospitati un ciprino dorato di circa 3 anni, un oranda di 1 e mezzo, 3 cobiti bilineati e 5 black helmet (chiedere via messaggio privato per i pesci, l'acquario non é adatto per queste specie ormai divenute troppo grandi quindi sto cercando loro una nuova casa, regalo a chi possa prendersene opportunamente cura.) Filtro biologico avviato con cannolicchi, spugna (e di riserva), ovatta (anche questa di riserva) e 3/4 di Sera Bio Nitrivec ancora nel flacone. L'acqua é mossa da una pompa regolabile Newa MC320 e riscaldata da un Termoriscaldatore regolabile di cui non conosco marca e wattaggio, l'illuminazione di un Neon Power Plant Pink Freshwater 25W e lungo 60cm é alimentata da un alimentatore Newa Lux e dai Newa Lux Caps.
