UR44 è un'interfaccia audio USB2.0 dotata di una risoluzione audio massima di 192KHz - 24 bit e quattro preamplificatori D-Pre in Classe A capaci di offrire un suono trasparente e molto accurato. I quatto ingressi sui quali sono previsti i preamplificatori sono Neutrik di tipo combo. La loro particolare conformazione consente di utilizzare sullo stesso connettore cavi sia di tipo XLR che TRS. Per praticità sono stati installati sul pannello anteriore. Sullo stesso, sono presenti i controlli per gestire selettivamente il Gain dei quattro canali, l'alimentazione Phantom (+48) a gruppi di due (primo e secondo ingresso per il primo pulsante e terzo e quarto ingresso per il secondo pulsante). Sempre seguendo questa associazione, gli ingressi 1 e 2 sono Mic/Hi-Z, mentre 3 e 4 di Mic/Line. Sullo stesso pannello, è possibile interagire con il volume relativo al main out e alle due uscite per cuffia, queste ultime dispongono di un controllo personale. Per facilitare il controllo dei picchi, i quattro canali dispongono ciascuno di un LED rosso che si accende ogni volta che si manifesta un picco. Il pannello posteriore ospita un interruttore per passare in modalità Class Compliant per collegare un iPad tramite il Camera Connection Kit e gli ultimi due ingressi audio di linea TRS. Conclude la lista di ingressi, quello MIDI accompagnato dall'inseparabile uscita (MIDI In/Out standard). Oltre alle due uscite stereo bilanciate, UR44 porta all'esterno anche i canali dal numero uno al quattro.
