Vignetting at corners may occur for certain EF-S lenses because they are designed to cover a 1.6x crop image circle but Sony NEX has a 1.5x crop sensor. 2. Requires lenses supporting distance information. 3. A third party zoom lens may need to be registered with the Smart Adapter first in order to detect its maximum aperture. Autofocus is disabled for most third-party lenses. 4. For example, some improperly-made M42 screw mount adapters may cause a short-circuit with the electronic contacts of the Smart Adapter and cause damage to the Smart Adapter and/or camera body. Autofocus Autofocus is supported, with the following known limitations. Autofocus speed is very slow and inadequate for most moving subjects. The autofocus speed is unfit for professional use for sure, and it would disappoint most enthusiasts. Only Canon-branded lenses introduced in or after are officially supported. Autofocus may be disabled for older Canon lenses and most third-party lenses, including most Sigma, Tamron and Tokina lenses and all Contax N lenses modified by Conurus. On NEX camera bodies in camcorder form factor (e.g. FS series), autofocus may be available only in photo mode but not in movie capture mode. Continuous AF is not supported. DMF mode (direct manual focus) is not supported. For non-camcorder camera bodies (e.g. NEX-7), during movie capture, if the subject moves to a different distance, half-press the shutter release button to re-activate autofocus and lock onto the subject again. Since autofocus speed is slow, there may be visible disruption in the resulting footage. The first two autofocus attempts are used to calibrate the lens and as a result may not lock successfully on the target. Half-press the shutter release button again and autofocus will lock successfully. Autofocus may have difficultly locking onto subjects which are very close to the nearest focusing distance of the lens. Autofocus accuracy depends heavily on the working condition of the lens. Lenses with hidden problems which may not be apparent on Canon DSLRs will lead to inaccurate and unreliable autofocus on Sony NEX. Typical problems of this kind that we have seen include an unsmooth/erratic autofocus mechanism (e.g. getting stuck intermittently at a certain focusing distance), a faulty/worn-out distance encoder or other faulty/worn-out internal sensors. Why Metabones? Since its inception, Metabones has been designing and manufacturing lens adapters recognized among professionals and enthusiasts as leaders in design and workmanship. Contrary to the popular trend of other factories using an aluminum ring painted black on the camera-body-side, we instead take no short-cut but use precision-machined brass with chromium plating on both the camera-body and the lens sides of our adapters, in order to ensure smooth mounting, great appearance, and durability. The lens side of the adapter features a strong leaf-spring structure, strengthening the adapter-lens connection and ensuring tightness of the lens in order to reduce wear and prevent focus errors and optical alignment issues from appearing. Metabones uses matte-black treatment to keep internal reflection to a minimum in order to maintain the maximum optical quality possible with the lens. All Metabones Adapters follow this tradition of uncompromising precision, robust build quality and outstanding finish. Our new Smart AdapterTM series of products add industry-leading electronic interfacing technology from Canada, with true electronic control of the lens', aperture directly from the camera body. Features Both camera-side and lens-side of the adapter are made of brass, precision-machined and plated with chromium. Satin surface finish - just like your OEM lens and camera mounts. Precise fit and solid connection - lens has no play, gap or wiggling when mounted on adapter and no adjustments are required to fit your lens. Designed to reach infinity focus while maintaining the correct registration distance required to maintain optical quality of CRC lenses or lenses with floating elements. Our Smart AdapterTM series adapters have the following additional features True electronic integration of aperture diaphragm - let camera automatically choose aperture in P or S exposure modes, or dial in yourself on the camera body in A or M modes. EXIF data such as lens identification, focal length and aperture.

Obiettivo Samyang 85mm T1.5 AS IF UMC VDSLR x Fotocamere

Samyang 85mm T1.5 AS IF UMC VDSLR LensThe Samyang 85mm T1.5 is a manual focusprime lens, this VDSLR (Video DSLR) version has been developed primarilyfor professional cine / movie making purposes. The VDSLR versionfeature follow focus gearing and decoupled aperture, which allow theuser to smoothly and quietly change focus and aperture / depth of fieldwhist filming, and link to professional follow focus cam systems.TheSamyang 85mm T1.5 is a manual focus prime lens, designed to giveexceptional results at wide apertures. At T1.5 great images can beobtained, which is perfect for portraiture and low light shooting, particularly when mounted on a full frame DSLRs.The SamyangVDSLR Cine lenses are rated in T-Stops rather than F-stops which is thestandard for professional movie camera lenses. F-stop number expressesthe speed of the lens on the assumption that lens transmits 100% of theincident light, and therefore is theoretical rather than a real worldmeasurement. The T-number expresses the actual light transmission, andthus is accurate for exposure purposes. It is also worth noting that theSamyang lenses achieve excellent transmissions properties.Thebokeh (the character of the out-of-focus blur) is a primary concern forprofessionals choosing an ultra large aperture lens for shallowdepth-of-field photography. The Samyang 85mm T1.5 lens design offersexcellent bokeh quality of out-of-focus highlights when used near wideopen, perfect for film and cine applications. Independent tests andusers confirm the Samyang',s beautiful bokeh character, surpassing lenses4 times the price. The lens optical construction is the same asthe 85mm f1.4 lens comprising of 9 lenses divided into 7 optical groupswith one aspheric lens element. The Samyang 85mm is designed withinternal focusing (IF) meaning the lens does not increase in size whenfocusing. A further positive aspect to internal focusing is that thelens is much less likely to get dust inside, as opposed to externalfocusing (or zooming) lenses which can suck in dirt during use. The 8bladed aperture design aids a great bokeh character at near wide openapertures. The Samyang 85mm T1.5 IF MC features Multi-coatedlenses which aid the very high level of light transmission, and addedresistance to flare and ghosting. It features a good sized manual focusring and is perfectly adapted to most photographic applications(exclusive of sports or fast moving subjects) where manual focus is notan issue. Accurate for focus critical situations can be achieved throughuse of focusing in live view mode, available to most newer cameramodels. In practice users including professional photographers havefound manual focus of the Samyang 85mm not to be an issue, even shootingat f1.4 with a very shallow depth of field in low light scenarios withstatic and slow moving subjects accurate focus can be achieved givingexcellent results thought the image on full frame cameras.Thereare also increasing numbers of users using DSLRs for filming and HighDefinition (HD) video and manual focus lenses allows the user to alterfocus during filming, and hence why the VDSLR versions were developed.Thefocus ring features toothed rings compatible with professional gearedfollow focus systems available in the film industry and likewise atoothed, decoupled (de-clicked) aperture ring. Such modifications allowfor smooth and precise control over focus and aperture during videorecording / filming. This allows for ultimate manual control of focusand exposure when filming from one scene to another with different lightsource intensities, such as changing exposure values (EVs) from insideto outside, or even in-camera fade ins etc.The Samyang VDSLRversions can be used in still photography as well as for video purposes. There are increasing numbers of users using DSLRs for filming and HighDefinition (HD) video and manual lenses allows the user to change focus(focus pulling) and aperture during filming. The Samyang 85mm T1.5 lens should be a serious consideration toall professional or amateur photographers requiring a fast prime lens, regardless of budget. When the low cost of the lens is considered itshould not be overlooked for amateur use, or as a primary or secondarylens for professionals wanting a dedicated, high performing T1.5portrait lens.Available fittings: TBC.
