Nel si tenne a Parigi l'esposizione universale intitolata "Arts et Techniques dans la Vie moderne". Nel corso della manifestazione furono premiati alcuni degli apparecchi e dei congegni messi in mostra. Una medaglia d'argento fu assegnata al Mirograph, semplice ma ingegnoso strumento per disegnare. Si tratta di una scatola metallica contenente uno specchio, un vetro semi-trasparente e un oculare. Fissata alle asticelle di supporto, la scatola va posta su un tavolo da disegno sopra il quale sono posati due fogli. Il primo reca la figura da riprodurre (un ritratto, un paesaggio, una mappa ecc.); il secondo foglio è bianco. Inclinando opportunamente lo specchio, la figura viene proiettata sul vetro semi-trasparente. Vista attraverso l'oculare, la proiezione serve a guidare la mano del disegnatore, che può facilmente tracciare sul foglio bianco una replica della figura originale. L'esemplare qui proposto risale al primo periodo di produzione ed è accompagnato dalle istruzioni e dalla custodia originale (mancante di uno dei lati di chiusura). La scatola contenente il Mirograph misura 19x9x7 cm. Se lo strumento viene spedito, al prezzo d'acquisto bisogna aggiungere 10 euro di spese postali, che salgono a 15 euro se è richiesto il servizio di pagamento in contrassegno.
