I punti di forza delle Hermes erano l'affidabilità e la durevolezza. La Hermes Media, in particolare, era uno strumento robustissimo. Montata su scocca metallica e protetta da una custodia dello stesso metallo, poteva essere portata ovunque resistendo a urti e scossoni.
