Vendo causa inutilizzo ottimo mulinello per Surfcasting e Carpfishing Shimano Ultegra XT-C, nuovo mai utilizzato e dunque realmente come da negozio. Lo ho acquistato, ho dato una spruzzata protettiva con CRC al guidafilo e non l'ho mai impiegato poichè da lì a poco ho abbandonato la pesca a fondo per cui lo avevo preso. E' completo di scatola, esploso e le due bobine taglia , una imbobinata con Technium Surf Shimano 0,23 e l'altra con Shimano Ultegra Invisitec 0,30. Si tratta dell'ultimo mulinello prodotto da Shimano con il comodissimo sistema di doppia frizione sul tappo, che rispetto ai soliti sistemi permette di avere frizione davvero rapida e di pescare sempre ad una stessa precisa taratura qualora si voglia (per me comodissimo). The Celebration of Scandal analyzes the urban fiction of both well-known novelists (Dickens, Gissing, James, and Meredith) and more marginal writers (Disraeli and Bulwer-Lytton) in terms of their representations of the city, both the scandalous and the sublime. It also includes a discussion of the dandy novels of Catherine Gore, whose parodies of high life are virtually unknown to modern readers. Bernstein explores the scandals lying at the heart of the representation of the city in Victorian fiction. Social scandals--slums that belie the myths of urban progress, for instance--are only intensified by methods of representation that overturn mimetic conventions. But if one pole of this study is the scandal, then its opposite is the sublime. Bernstein examines the parodic mode of the dandy and moves to the serious urban sublime that records urban experience in its ambiguity, its narcissism, its negativity, and its strength. Bernstein then discusses fictional and nonfictional urban sketches that present many of the problems facing urban artists in their encounters with the city. She stakes out new territory, blending the work of major critics of Victorian literature (Steven Marcus, Hillis Miller, etc.), lesser-known nineteenth-century urban texts, and a substantial dosage of Continental materials, ranging from the crucial work of Baudelaire and his great expositor, Walter Benjamin, to theorists such as Freud, Bakhtin, Foucault, Barthes, and Lacan.

In , Moraley ventured as an indentured servant from England to the "American Plantations," where he worked in various jobs, rambled about the countryside, and mingled with white and black bonds people, laborers, artisans, Indians, and other common folk. His account brims over with observations about the geography and climate, the flora and fauna, and the customs, politics, religions, superstitions, material conditions, and daily lives of the inhabitants of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. Of special interest are his comments about servants, slaves, and Native Americans--groups frequently ignored by early travelers. Moraley's experiences were similar to those of many other eighteenth-century European immigrants who sold themselves into servitude, but he is among only a handful of people at the bottom of society who left memoirs of their lives. Smart, sassy, and articulate, Moraley narrates a take of adventure designed primarily to entertain. At times a rogue, a drunkard, a liar, a vagabond, and a petty thief, he boasts that he could "rake with the best of them." But the autobiography has considerable historical value as well. Rather than being the inevitable consequence of the unfolding dynamic of institutional and socioeconomic forces, Williams argues, it was the active intervention and initiate of a handful of educational leaders that secured the colleges' future---above all, the activities of George W. Atherton. For nearly three decades, Atherton, who was the seventh president of the Pennsylvania State University, worked to secure consistent federal financial support for the colleges, which in their early years received little assistance from the states they were designed to benefit. He also helped to develop the institutions as comprehensive "national" universities grounded in the liberal arts and sciences---a conception that countered the prevailing view of the colleges as mainly agricultural schools.Atherton became the prime mover in the campaign to enact the Hatch Act, which encouraged the establishment of agricultural experiment stations at land-grant colleges.
