Pensato per la massima portatilità, OP-1 consente di utilizzare il campionatore e il tape recorder incluso per registrare idee al volo o veri e propri brani. Se collegato via USB a un PC o a un Mac, OP-1 viene visualizzato come un dispositivo di memoria di massa standard, pronto per il 'drag and drop' diretto dei file audio tra il computer e OP-1.
