The CTA405 is an integrated valve amplifier with five line-level inputs, including a tape monitor loop, and a built in RIAA phono circuit accommodating moving magnet and high output moving coil cartridges. A complete line stage similar to the one found in the Copland CTA305 preamplifier is installed separately together with a dedicated power supply, providing a low output impedance buffer between the amplifier interconnect cables and the level control prior to the power amplifier. The push pull output stages consist of a pair of matched power valves in fixed ultra-linear configuration, delivering the low distortion of triodes combined with the power of tetrode valves. The operation point of the output stage is set for class AB operation. In practice, this means that the first 50% of the output power is provided in class A condition. The output transformers are highly critical components of the valve amplifier. Decades of experience in this particular field of audio electronics are incorporated in our design of these critical parts of the valve amplifier, and excellent specifications can be measured at more than twice the rated output power of 50 W per channel chosen for this construction. CTA Due to the outstanding performance of the Copland output transformers, superb linearity is achieved before feedback is employed; reducing the requirements for internal lag compensation networks and ensuring high stability after the 18dB negative feedback loop is closed. The CTA405 is able to provide what we consider an extraordinarily accurate reproduction of music without any tendency towards listening fatigue, featuring strong dynamics and a wide flexibility in the choice of speakers. The HA-1 is anchored by a hefty toroidal power transformer, and linear power regulators and filters with custom made capacitors ensure that the headphone amplifier has a clean power source with plenty of reserve energy. Ciao, ti piace il mare? A me si, tantissimo, mi comunica pace e ne percepisco la potenza assoluta. Ci sono creature marine che più di altre comunicano grazia e potenza... la razza per esempio. Grande, pacifica e potente, capace di scatti veloci e nel contempo, col suo movimento alare, elegante e sinuosa come questo amplificatore TECHNICS SU- dal mantello grigio chiaro, argentato il frontale e entrambi veramente molto in ordine. In generale il funzionamento é perfetto. Come la razza è aggraziato ma capace di grandissima forza sonora, ha un cuore scuro grande e pesante, guarda la foto che ne ritrae l interno, un cuore che pompa watt a profusione, 30 per canale per essere precisi, ma 30 watt veri, che sanno pilotare anche i diffusori più duri, chiusi come cozze (sempre al mare torniamo!). Però dall aspetto non lo diresti, sobrio e elegante... dal peso si, pesa un accidente questo ampli. Velocissimo nelle risposte, da una sorgente all altra senza incertezze, senza un rumorino, solo la tua musica. Nessuna dubbio, un amplificatore di razza (razza/razza eh eh! carina questa!), tutti i potenziometri lavorano nel massimo silenzio, idem gli interruttori. Per quanto concerne le funzioni puoi pilotare due coppie di altoparlanti o tutti assieme, regolare alti, bassi e bilanciare il suono, selezionare la sorgente: PHONO, TUNER, AUX, TAPE 1 e TAPE 2 e regolarne logicamente il volume con l enorme e silenziosissimo potenziometro, inserire il loudness, potente! Potrai anche inserire il tasto High Filter, duplicare da Tape 1 a 2 e viceversa (a proposito: il play dei tape sono anche AUX 2 e AUX 3). Sorvolo sulle scale vu meters a led: non voglio infierire e comunque funzionano alla perfezione. Sul retro hai gli otto morsetti a strozzo per le quattro casse, gli ingressi delle sorgenti e i fusibili che proteggono da danni accidentali i tuoi preziosi altoparlanti. La sua escursione focale corrisponde a quella di uno zoom ultragrandangolare mm del pieno formato. Il grandissimo angolo di ripresa, di ben gradi *, produce immagini dalla prospettiva esasperata che permettono di enfatizzare al massimo il soggetto desiderato. Quattro lenti in vetro ottico FLD ("F" Bassa Dispersione), compensano le aberrazioni colore come le lenti in vetro ottico alla fluorite. Astigmatismo e distorsione sono corretti da una lente asferica di tipo ibrido e da due in vetro ottico forgiato. Two Signal Setups The Intonator also makes you capable of configuring the signal path in two different ways. In Normal mode the ADIOS (Analog Dual I/O's) configuration enables you to make simultaneous recordings of processed and unprocessed vocals, making comparisons a breeze (see fig. A). Digital signals, from your digital multitrack recorder for instance, can be configured the same way. In Dual mode you have the option of pitch-correcting the signal in one channel while using the dynamics, De-esser and LoCut, on the signal in the other channel (see fig. B). Being On Top You can choose to correct a single note simply by using the unique "Do-not-process-anything-but-this-note" function achieved via an internal custom scale feature, or type in your personal scale. A Pitch window allows you to specify when a note will be considered out of tune, whereas the Amount control limits the level of Pitch correction added to the audio. The Audio-to-MIDI conversion allows you to keep track of the incoming pitch history and/or correction history, giving you the advantages of being on top of things throughout the entire recording session. The Intonator features full MIDI automation making time based pitch shifting a simple operation. Use your keyboard for real-time manual pitch correction simply by hitting the notes to be processed. Dithering The use of dithering is very important when interfacing digitally between audio equipment. When resolution is changed from higher to lower, dithering is necessary to minimize distortion. In the Intonator you have the user friendly TPDF Dithering. The Output resolution of the Intonator is 24 bit, when the receiver of the Intonator signal has a lower resolution, Output Dither must be applied to equal the resolution of the receiver. Premium Converters When converting from analog to digital or vice versa, you should always try to use the full dynamic range of your converters. Even though the converters in the Intonator are 24 bit, analog gain may be applied before the AD's and after the DA's to make full use of them. The analog signal-path is balanced and can carry professional levels. Applications With the Intonator, you can establish a completely digital signal-path for vocal editing and correction. When tracking, the unit's fine A to D converters may be utilized to get high quality digital signals directly to Multitrack, ADAT, ProTools etc. Audio-to-MIDI With a simple setup you can monitor and edit your vocals externally. Just track the incoming pitch history to your sequencer, add the necessary correction and play back the pitch correction to the Intonator Keyboard The keyboard gives you instant access to changing the Root note of the current scale or the notes allowed to be corrected. Simultaneously the keyboard also indicates the incoming note, making it possible to recognize the note about to be processed. Display The Display shows you the current Root note and Scale. While processing you can see both the incoming signal and the amount of correction added to the source, creating a visual confirmation of the process taking place. Window, Attack and Amount These three knobs allow you to individualize the processing in detail. The Window knob determines how close to a particular note the source should be in order to be corrected. The Attack knob conducts the response-time before the correction sets in. This will help preserve the artist's personal touch by e.g. allowing vibrato. The Amount knob sets the amount of correction added to the signal. Manual Pitch Use the Manual Pitch control to add pitch correction by hand. The wheel can also be remote controlled by your keyboard modulation wheel or even provide in-sync changes when locked to a sequencer. The De-esser uses a relative threshold technique. This means that the actual threshold is always set according to the average level of the source signal. Consequently, the De-esser always adapts to the incoming signal and maintains the same threshold to the average level regardless of the Input signal. Adaptive Locut The Adaptive LoCut is a pitch controlled LoCut Filter. Instead of cutting off frequencies under a predetermined value, the Adaptive LoCut filter controls the cut off frequencies dynamically in accordance with the incoming signal. Autofocus Autofocus is supported, with the following known limitations. Autofocus speed is very slow and inadequate for most moving subjects. The autofocus speed is unfit for professional use for sure, and it would disappoint most enthusiasts. Only Canon-branded lenses introduced in or after are officially supported. Autofocus may be disabled for older Canon lenses and most third-party lenses, including most Sigma, Tamron and Tokina lenses and all Contax N lenses modified by Conurus. On NEX camera bodies in camcorder form factor (e.g. FS series), autofocus may be available only in photo mode but not in movie capture mode. Continuous AF is not supported. DMF mode (direct manual focus) is not supported. For non-camcorder camera bodies (e.g. NEX-7), during movie capture, if the subject moves to a different distance, half-press the shutter release button to re-activate autofocus and lock onto the subject again. Since autofocus speed is slow, there may be visible disruption in the resulting footage. The first two autofocus attempts are used to calibrate the lens and as a result may not lock successfully on the target. Half-press the shutter release button again and autofocus will lock successfully. Autofocus may have difficultly locking onto subjects which are very close to the nearest focusing distance of the lens. Autofocus accuracy depends heavily on the working condition of the lens. Lenses with hidden problems which may not be apparent on Canon DSLRs will lead to inaccurate and unreliable autofocus on Sony NEX. Typical problems of this kind that we have seen include an unsmooth/erratic autofocus mechanism (e.g. getting stuck intermittently at a certain focusing distance), a faulty/worn-out distance encoder or other faulty/worn-out internal sensors.
