Un disco di maggiore intimismo e distacco rispetto al successo globale di Born in the Usa, dove Springsteen cerca di ricomporre, non facilmente, un percorso umano artistico iniziato anni prima con Nebraska, che a livello tematico è una riflessione sul tema dell'amore. In primo piano le vicende personali e la crisi coniugale che lo portarono lontano dai refrain commerciali.. canzoni come: "Tougher Than The Rest", la dolcissima "Cautious Man", oppure Walk Like A Man riprendono un solco acustico che fa ricordare proprio a Nebraska. Da ricordare come brani oltre alla bellissima Tunnel of Love, e il singolo "Brillant Disguise" anche "Valentine s' Day" e la cupa "Two Faces", pezzi che ad ogni modo sarebbero restati nel repertorio del Boss. Il vinile è su etichetta CBS e seriale , prima stampa europea, ed è pari al nuovo senza alcun segno e con un suono pulito e forte, la cover è in stato più che buono solo il segno di un adesivo staccato, e anche la busta con inserto e testi originale è perfetta.
