Era ormai ora di un nuovo sound. La Mesa/Boogie non si fece attendere ma ottenne ben presto il suo trono. Gente come Metallica passò dal vecchio strarisentito sound dei Marshall usati sul 1° album ad un sound più nuovo, più potente, più duro, più grosso,più fresco.. grazie ai Mesa/Boogie (Master of Puppets ne è la prova). Anche nel Grunge nascente fecero uguale: band come Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains ed altri cambiarono bandiera. Nevermind è uno degli album più duri e potenti mai sentiti. Amplificazione rigorosamente Mesa/Boogie come il mio. (Kurt era un buon gustaio ed usò praticamente quasi sempre finali Mesa/Boogie sia nei live sia per le perle di album che ci ha lasciato, vedi in Utero). Santana, un altro.
