Nell'Inghilterra del '700 vi era una grande richiesta da parte della piccola e media borghesia di vasellame da tavola con costi inferiori all' ARGENTO STERLING ( di argento puro) che rappresentava la massima aspirazione di tutti i ceti sociali, nacque così ad opera dell'argentiere Thomas Boulsover () l' ARGENTO SHEFFIELD. La lavorazione dell'argento Sheffield consisteva nel sovrapporre una lastra di rame come base e un altra d'argento indi venivano saldate contemporaneamente ad alta temperatura. La lastra ottenuta poteva essere lavorata come fosse una lastra d'argento, con i medesimi sistemi, a sbalzo, stampaggio e incisione. Vi era pero un problema di adattabilità a contenere cibi e bevande per via delle parti scoperte in rame, fu un altro imprenditore tale Matthew Boulton () il quale risolse il problema inserendo due lastre di argento con in mezzo la lastra di rame, aggiungendo inoltre, nei punti di maggior attrito, un'ulteriore lamina di argento. I prodotti risultavano di grande qualità, stile e accuratezza pari a quelli di argento e difficilmente distinguibili da essi.. Questo oggetto fa parte della collezione Sheffield vittoriana che comprende tutti i modelli di uso comune nelle case in Inghilterra nell'800 cioè durante il regno della regina Vittoria. The essays are divided into two sections. The first covers issues surrounding OBS activities and banking and begins with a brief introduction that places the essays into context. OBS activities and the underinvestment problem, whether loan sales are really OBS, and money demand and OBS liquidity are examined in detail. Section two, which also begins with a brief introduction, focuses on issues of securitized assets and financing. A report on recognition and measurement issues in accounting for securitized assets is followed by three separate discussion essays. Other subjects covered include contract theoretic analysis of OBS financing, the use of OBS financing to circumvent financial covenant restrictions, and debt contracting and financial contracting. The latter two contributions are also followed by discussion essays. This unique collection of papers will prove to be an interestingand valuable tool for accounting and finance professionals as well as for academics involved in these fields. It will also be an important addition to public, college, and university libraries.
