TC Electronic Intonator Vocal Intonation Processor

TC Electronic Intonator Vocal Intonation Processor

Intonator Encompassing a heritage of more than 20 years of delivering professional tools to the pro audio industry, TC Electronic proudly presents a high end vocal processing tool. Dedicated to the professional vocal recording engineer, the Intonator is aimed at reducing tedious engineering time spent on doing vocal re-takes. Not only does it provide you with the ultimate solution to vocal pitch correction, but it offers various valuable processing tools as well, including a De-esser, and a special Adaptive LoCut filter designed specifically for vocal processing. Quality Tools For Quality Engineering Tonal integrity is a must when dealing with delicate human vocals. The Intonator preserves the artist's personal touch by allowing vibrato, initial intonation and correction limited to individual notes. Utmost care has been taken in the software development to ensure that all fine adjustments applied to the incoming signal are being processed in a subtle, yet highly effective manner! Transparency Based on TC's world-renowned DARCâ,,¢3 chip technology (incorporating 96kHz internal processing and true 24 bit resolution), the Intonator provides you with an ultra-transparent signal path. It features fully integrated AES/EBU, S/PDIF, Tos-link and ADAT digital I/O's, and is 96kHz, 88.2kHz, 48kHz and 44.1kHz compatible on both digital and analog I/O's. Coherence Apart from the clear advantages of reducing the time spent on doing vocal re-takes, the Intonator also brings back coherence into the performance. Instead of cutting and pasting bits and phrases, with the loss of coherence as an obvious result, you now have a professional tool for processing and correcting your vocals in real-time. Two Signal Setups The Intonator also makes you capable of configuring the signal path in two different ways. In Normal mode the ADIOS (Analog Dual I/O's) configuration enables you to make simultaneous recordings of processed and unprocessed vocals, making comparisons a breeze (see fig. A). Digital signals, from your digital multitrack recorder for instance, can be configured the same way. In Dual mode you have the option of pitch-correcting the signal in one channel while using the dynamics, De-esser and LoCut, on the signal in the other channel (see fig. B). Being On Top You can choose to correct a single note simply by using the unique "Do-not-process-anything-but-this-note" function achieved via an internal custom scale feature, or type in your personal scale. A Pitch window allows you to specify when a note will be considered out of tune, whereas the Amount control limits the level of Pitch correction added to the audio. The Audio-to-MIDI conversion allows you to keep track of the incoming pitch history and/or correction history, giving you the advantages of being on top of things throughout the entire recording session. The Intonator features full MIDI automation making time based pitch shifting a simple operation. Use your keyboard for real-time manual pitch correction simply by hitting the notes to be processed. Dithering The use of dithering is very important when interfacing digitally between audio equipment. When resolution is changed from higher to lower, dithering is necessary to minimize distortion. In the Intonator you have the user friendly TPDF Dithering. The Output resolution of the Intonator is 24 bit, when the receiver of the Intonator signal has a lower resolution, Output Dither must be applied to equal the resolution of the receiver. Premium Converters When converting from analog to digital or vice versa, you should always try to use the full dynamic range of your converters. Even though the converters in the Intonator are 24 bit, analog gain may be applied before the AD's and after the DA's to make full use of them. The analog signal-path is balanced and can carry professional levels. Applications With the Intonator, you can establish a completely digital signal-path for vocal editing and correction. When tracking, the unit's fine A to D converters may be utilized to get high quality digital signals directly to Multitrack, ADAT, ProTools etc. Audio-to-MIDI With a simple setup you can monitor and edit your vocals externally. Just track the incoming pitch history to your sequencer, add the necessary correction and play back the pitch correction to the Intonator Keyboard The keyboard gives you instant access to changing the Root note of the current scale or the notes allowed to be corrected. Simultaneously the keyboard also indicates the incoming note, making it possible to recognize the note about to be processed. Display The Display shows you the current Root note and Scale. While processing you can see both the incoming signal and the amount of correction added to the source, creating a visual confirmation of the process taking place. Window, Attack and Amount These three knobs allow you to individualize the processing in detail. The Window knob determines how close to a particular note the source should be in order to be corrected. The Attack knob conducts the response-time before the correction sets in. This will help preserve the artist's personal touch by e.g. allowing vibrato. The Amount knob sets the amount of correction added to the signal. Manual Pitch Use the Manual Pitch control to add pitch correction by hand. The wheel can also be remote controlled by your keyboard modulation wheel or even provide in-sync changes when locked to a sequencer. The De-esser uses a relative threshold technique. This means that the actual threshold is always set according to the average level of the source signal. Consequently, the De-esser always adapts to the incoming signal and maintains the same threshold to the average level regardless of the Input signal. Adaptive Locut The Adaptive LoCut is a pitch controlled LoCut Filter. Instead of cutting off frequencies under a predetermined value, the Adaptive LoCut filter controls the cut off frequencies dynamically in accordance with the incoming signal. This ensures a perfect LoCut that never removes too much low end.

In his most exuberant book yet, Richard Powers asks us to consider the big questions facing humankind as we begin to rewrite our own existence. " Powers'] cerebral new novel offers a chilling examination of the life we're reengineering with our chromosomes and brain chemistry... Powers sticks so closely to the state of current medical science and popular culture that this isn't so much a warning as a diagnosis. And as with any frightening diagnosis, you'll be torn between denial and a desperate urge to talk about it... With "Generosity," Powers has performed a dazzling cross-disciplinary feat, linking the slippery nature of 'creative nonfiction' to the moral conundrums of genetic engineering. Although you might expect a novel so weighted with medical and philosophical arguments to flatten its characters into brittle stereotypes, ultimately that's the most impressive aspect of this meditation on happiness and humanness. As "Generosity" drives toward its surprising conclusion, these characters grow more complex and poignant, increasingly baffled by the challenge and the opportunity of remaking ourselves to our heart's content."--Ron Charles, "The Washington Post Book World" "For the past 20 years or so, Richard Powers seems to have been engaged in a prodigious attempt to redress the imbalance of knowledge that was the subject of C. Field of Schemes: How the Great Stadium Swindle Turns Public

ISBN: , SKU: , AUTHOR: Cagan, Joanna / Mause de, Neil / de Mause, Neil, PUBLISHER: Common Courage Press, Are you a sports fan distraught over seeing your home team move to another city? Or a happy sports fan whose city has just lured that team to your home turf with a brand new stadium? Or maybe you don't follow sports, but as a taxpayer are decrying cutbacks in school funding and other services. Whoever you are, state and local officials have thrown you a financial curve ball. While President Reagan made famous the false and chiding comment about "welfare queens" who ride around in Cadillacs, Field of Schemes introduces you to some real welfare kings -- who not only prefer BMWs, thank you, but also know the meaning of fun: -- A millionaire pizza baron wants more corporate luxury seating than his historic old ballpark provides, so he demands a new stadium at taxpayer expense, saying the old one is falling down. A group of grass-roots activists reveal that his engineering reports are faked, and that it would be far cheaper to renovate the old ballpark -- but the city and state go ahead with the project anyway. -- A used-car salesman turned baseba11 team owner promises to pay for a new stadium out of his own pocket, if the state government just agrees to move a highway to clear the land. Several backroom deals later, the state is paying to move the highway and raising a quarter-billion dollars towards the stadium costs, -- and the team owner is getting his stadium scott-free. -- The billionaire co-founder of Microsoft wants to buy a football team, but only if the state will build him a new stadium first. So he pays the state $4 million to hold an emergency referendum -- then spends millions more in advertising to make sure he wins. In exchange, he gets over $400 million in statetax money to build his team's new home. -- When an economically depressed city is faced with losing its football team, it scrambles to allocate $220 million for a new, state-of-the-art stadium. The next day, the city school system announces that it plans to lay off up to 160 teachers and eliminate interscholastic athletics. -- A Sunbelt town builds a new arena at public expense in order to lure expansion basketball and hockey franchises to the region. Just nine years later, the city is forced to build two new arenas, one for each sport, to keep the teams from bolting town. Total cost: almost $400 million, including $50 million for the soon-to-be-abandoned first arena. From Seattle Sea Hawks owner Paul Allen of Microsoft to New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, from Tom Monaghan of Domino's Pizza who destroyed Tiger Stadium to the building of Camden Yards, the stories are all here in a uniquely accessible journalistic style that brings you up close and personal to the moguls -- to the activists protecting your wallet. You'll be gripped by the behind-the scenes threats and political machinations in this play-by-play draining of billions of dollars from the public treasury. Between and , U.S. cities spent some $1.5 billion on building or r

The Sigma SSP has been conceived and built as an example of quality and value without peer. It will stand as the seminal reference in the preamp/pro - cessor category for many years to come. Modern high-end audio systems tend to fall into one of two broad categories: stereo and theater. But rarely are they used exclusively in those roles. Most have a television display of some kind between stereo speakers or use the surround sound system for playing music. Inevitably, each makes compromises as it tries to accommodate the requirements of the other. The Sigma SSP is designed to build a bridge between these two categories, optimized as a stereo preamp/processor but with HDMI switching and 7.1 channels of high-performance multichannel processing included. The stereo preamp/processor circuitry is derived from the latest generation Delta series CP-800, making the Sigma SSP a stunning performer as a stereo preamp. Test bench measurements are exceptional and suggest comparison with cost-no-object designs. Sonically the Sigma SSP out-performs stereo preamps with stand-alone DACs, while offering superb decoding of high-resolution formats including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Sigma SSP

A web browser can be used to configure analogue output connection to fixed or variable analogue for maximum flexibility. Meridian Apodising Filter Filters are critical in digital audio. Commonly they introduce distortion and harshness because of "pre-ringing". Early digital recordings suffer from harshness too, due to primitive filters. After painstaking research, Meridian developed a special filter that avoids pre-ringing, so it can be steeper, cleaning up the effects of early filters. The result: a better, cleaner sound from recordings old and new. SpeakerLink Traditional audio systems often require large, expensive cables to maintain their performance. Meridian's SpeakerLink uses an “Ethernet style” cable that delivers pristine digital sound and control down a single cable between Meridian components. The result is simple, unobtrusive, and cost-effective cables that are easy to install.
