EIT RawMaterials seeks an Alumni Manager About us EIT RawMaterials, initiated and funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, is the largest consortium in the raw materials sector worldwide. EIT RawMaterials unites more than 120 core and associate partners and 190 project partners from industry, research institutions and higher education from over 20 EU countries. They collaborate on finding new, innovative solutions to improving the raw materials sector along the entire value chain â from extraction to processing, recycling and reuse. The EIT RawMaterials Alumni creates new events, new services and new opportunities for people in the EIT RawMaterials community to continue to connect with each other and increases access to existing EIT RawMaterials events and services. Our mission is to support and complement the work of EIT RawMaterials, add value for individual alumni members, the Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) as a whole and more widely to EIT and the raw materials sector, and to contribute to the long-term legacy of EIT RawMaterials. EIT RawMaterials Alumni is for everyone who has a relationship with EIT RawMaterials, including current and past participants in: Masters and PhD programmes, Lifelong Learning courses and Wider Society Learning activities Business creation activities such as Business Ideas Competitions, Start-up & SME booster funding and Accelerator programmes EIT RawMaterials partners and their staff EIT RawMaterials staff Members of other KICS and the wider raw materials sector who have an interest in connecting and collaborating with EIT RawMaterials alumni We started work to develop an alumni association in and have recruited a volunteer Board and have developed a three year strategy and an action plan for . We have already signed up around 200 alumni, some of whom have already taken part in events and the Board has decided on the name EIT RawMaterials Alumni. To enable EIT RawMaterials Alumni to develop further we are looking for an Alumni Manager. The Alumni Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of EIT RawMaterials Alumniactivities. The alumni manager will: Support EIT RawMaterials in developing the alumni network, promoting interaction with other stakeholders in the EIT RawMaterials communityand in implementing plans for events, information services and working towards a mentoring programme Organise, attend and participate in alumni events Introduce the necessary software platform to manage a database, communications and website Keep members informed and provide tailored news and information through the website, newsletter and social media on events, courses, publications etc (within and beyond EIT RawMaterials) Support the EIT RawMaterials AlumniBoard to implement plans and to manage Board meetings and communications Coordinate closely with the Board and with EIT RawMaterials Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings Maintain and develop relations with EIT and with other EIT KICs and in particular their alumni associations Provide written and/or verbal reports to the Management and Executive Board on regular occasions Travel across Europe. Qualifications and experience An academic degree 5 years professional experience incl. experience of working in a complex organisation Background in alumni work High English-language proficiency (level C1) with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills Very good organisation and coordination skills including attention to detail and multitasking A combination of drive, tenacity and diplomacy Experience using computers for a variety of tasks Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. Additional information The Alumni Manager (m/f) will be employed by EIT Raw Materials GmbH and based at our Headquarters in Berlin. They will report to the Director of Education. Two Signal Setups The Intonator also makes you capable of configuring the signal path in two different ways. In Normal mode the ADIOS (Analog Dual I/O's) configuration enables you to make simultaneous recordings of processed and unprocessed vocals, making comparisons a breeze (see fig. A). Digital signals, from your digital multitrack recorder for instance, can be configured the same way. In Dual mode you have the option of pitch-correcting the signal in one channel while using the dynamics, De-esser and LoCut, on the signal in the other channel (see fig. B). Being On Top You can choose to correct a single note simply by using the unique "Do-not-process-anything-but-this-note" function achieved via an internal custom scale feature, or type in your personal scale. A Pitch window allows you to specify when a note will be considered out of tune, whereas the Amount control limits the level of Pitch correction added to the audio. The Audio-to-MIDI conversion allows you to keep track of the incoming pitch history and/or correction history, giving you the advantages of being on top of things throughout the entire recording session. The Intonator features full MIDI automation making time based pitch shifting a simple operation. Use your keyboard for real-time manual pitch correction simply by hitting the notes to be processed. Dithering The use of dithering is very important when interfacing digitally between audio equipment. When resolution is changed from higher to lower, dithering is necessary to minimize distortion. In the Intonator you have the user friendly TPDF Dithering. The Output resolution of the Intonator is 24 bit, when the receiver of the Intonator signal has a lower resolution, Output Dither must be applied to equal the resolution of the receiver. Premium Converters When converting from analog to digital or vice versa, you should always try to use the full dynamic range of your converters. Even though the converters in the Intonator are 24 bit, analog gain may be applied before the AD's and after the DA's to make full use of them. The analog signal-path is balanced and can carry professional levels. Applications With the Intonator, you can establish a completely digital signal-path for vocal editing and correction. When tracking, the unit's fine A to D converters may be utilized to get high quality digital signals directly to Multitrack, ADAT, ProTools etc. Audio-to-MIDI With a simple setup you can monitor and edit your vocals externally. Just track the incoming pitch history to your sequencer, add the necessary correction and play back the pitch correction to the Intonator Keyboard The keyboard gives you instant access to changing the Root note of the current scale or the notes allowed to be corrected. Simultaneously the keyboard also indicates the incoming note, making it possible to recognize the note about to be processed. Display The Display shows you the current Root note and Scale. While processing you can see both the incoming signal and the amount of correction added to the source, creating a visual confirmation of the process taking place. Window, Attack and Amount These three knobs allow you to individualize the processing in detail. The Window knob determines how close to a particular note the source should be in order to be corrected. The Attack knob conducts the response-time before the correction sets in. This will help preserve the artist's personal touch by e.g. allowing vibrato. The Amount knob sets the amount of correction added to the signal. Manual Pitch Use the Manual Pitch control to add pitch correction by hand. The wheel can also be remote controlled by your keyboard modulation wheel or even provide in-sync changes when locked to a sequencer. The De-esser uses a relative threshold technique. This means that the actual threshold is always set according to the average level of the source signal. Consequently, the De-esser always adapts to the incoming signal and maintains the same threshold to the average level regardless of the Input signal. Adaptive Locut The Adaptive LoCut is a pitch controlled LoCut Filter. Instead of cutting off frequencies under a predetermined value, the Adaptive LoCut filter controls the cut off frequencies dynamically in accordance with the incoming signal. This ensures a perfect LoCut that never removes too much low end.

Autofocus may be disabled for older Canon lenses and most third-party lenses, including most Sigma, Tamron and Tokina lenses and all Contax N lenses modified by Conurus. On NEX camera bodies in camcorder form factor (e.g. FS series), autofocus may be available only in photo mode but not in movie capture mode. Continuous AF is not supported. DMF mode (direct manual focus) is not supported. For non-camcorder camera bodies (e.g. NEX-7), during movie capture, if the subject moves to a different distance, half-press the shutter release button to re-activate autofocus and lock onto the subject again. Since autofocus speed is slow, there may be visible disruption in the resulting footage. The first two autofocus attempts are used to calibrate the lens and as a result may not lock successfully on the target. Half-press the shutter release button again and autofocus will lock successfully. Autofocus may have difficultly locking onto subjects which are very close to the nearest focusing distance of the lens. Autofocus accuracy depends heavily on the working condition of the lens. Lenses with hidden problems which may not be apparent on Canon DSLRs will lead to inaccurate and unreliable autofocus on Sony NEX. Typical problems of this kind that we have seen include an unsmooth/erratic autofocus mechanism (e.g. getting stuck intermittently at a certain focusing distance), a faulty/worn-out distance encoder or other faulty/worn-out internal sensors.
