They track down another ex-Marine buddy, a wealthy bush pilot flying relief missions out of Uganda into Darfur. The clandestine mission they devise transports them into ravaged Africa, lawless Yemen, and an unstable Middle East. The Five American Infidels are not without inner strife: one, a pragmatist, is reluctant and raises ethical concerns; another has substance abuse issues that may jeopardize the mission. Attempting to acquire illegal weapons, they encounter ruthless arms dealers, tribal leaders, and Arab militias. An attractive lady professor is duped into becoming an accomplice. Assuming false identities and altering their appearance, they set up vulnerable targets. The results of their missioncould have monumental consequences. They had planned well.
