Economic Stabilization and Debt in Developing Countries

Moving from individual developing nations to the world economic system, the final two chapters examine the question of external debt and why it has proved to be such an international stumbling block, offering suggestions on how it might be resolved.

Sono previste due modalità di gioco: Arcade e Gran Turismo. Nel primo caso il giocatore ha a disposizione un numero piuttosto elevato di vetture con cui partecipare a gare con diversi livelli di difficoltà, sfidare altri giocatori o provare qualunque circuito desideri. Molto più originale è la modalità "Gran Turismo": in questo caso il giocatore è un pilota alle prime armi che, per poter raggiungere il successo deve affrontare una serie di prove di abilità. Il conseguimento di patenti di guida sempre più specialistiche permette al giocatore di accedere alle corse più prestigiose; parallelamente, i montepremi dei granpremi vinti consentono l'acquisto di vetture sempre più veloci e costose o da modificare (oltre 290 vetture). Ritiro a mano in zona Casilina (altezza nuova fermata della Metro C Montecompatri/Pantano) o all'uscita del casello per Monte Porzio Catone. Eventualmente spedisco con costi a carico dell'acquirente. Dan Jurgens riesce nella difficile impresa di proporci una storia non banale, ben condotta e risolta con un efficace finale. La storia riesce a mantenere sempre elevatissima la tensione. Il finale è molto ben calibrato. Eccellenti i disegni, che sono quasi esclusivo merito dell'ottimo Kevin Nolan. Nella storia fa in tempo ad entrare anche una volitiva Lois Lane, che, in alcune tavole, gioca a fare la Ripley. Avventura allo stato puro quindi, con un pizzico di nostalgia per dei personaggi dimenticati nel limbo della Crisis, colta però solo dai veri puristi di Superman. Combining the approaches of social and political history, Gender and the Politics of Social Reform in France, offers a new perspective on women's lives in the Third Republic -- and on the emergence of the welfare state in general -- by looking at the attitudes, actions, and policies of the men who held political power. Addressing themes in the newly invigorated field of welfare-state history, contributors to this volume offer evidence that social reform in France began far earlier than is usually supposed and was a response by republican politicians and social activists to a declining population growth rate. As this demographic crisis inspired efforts to improve maternal and child health and increase the birth rate, motherhood was redefined as a public mission deserving of public support. Even though the eventual reforms resulted in greater recognition of women's role in the proper functioning of society and provided for programs beneficial to infants, the legislation enacted by the men in power was decidedly patriarchal in its scope, treating women as children rather than equals.
