Jacovitti è il fumettista del paradosso, dell'assurdo, dei nasi rotondi gonfi come palloncini, dei salami e delle lische di pesce che sbucano dal terreno. Benito Franco Jacovitti è nato il 9 marzo del a Termoli, ma con la famiglia si trasferisce giovanissimo prima a Macerata e poi a Firenze. E fu proprio sulla rivista umoristica fiorentina "Il brivido" che Jacovitti sedicenne pubblicò le sue prime vignette, prima di iniziare la sua lunga collaborazione con il settimanale cattolico "Il vittorioso". Creatore di decine e decine di personaggi (Pippo, Pertica e Palla, Cocco Bill, Zorry Kid, Cip e Zagar, Tom Ficcanaso, Giorgio Giorgio detto Giorgio), Jacovitti, scomparso il 3 dicembre , è stato il creatore di un universo originale e irripetibile, una sorta di paese delle meraviglie in cui tutto è possibile.
