La sua costruzione è stata una scommessa nell'era dei microfoni da studio tedeschi ed austriaci. Ma vinta, perché resta uno dei migliori microfoni da studio mai realizzati con caratteristiche uniche. Resa pulita in ogni gamma di frequenza, nessuna coloritura o personalizzazione del suono, lo rendono perfetto per la restituzione lineare dell'originale ripreso. La bassa diffusione, ed una breve produzione, lo rendono ancora più pregiato del predecessore C-38.
