L'Operatore Socio Sanitario, figura professionale definita secondo le indicazioni della delibera regionale, è un operatore con professionalità polivalente che opera nell'area sociale e in forza di una specifica formazione: -interviene direttamente con l'utente (singolo o famiglia) al fine di recuperare le sue risorse in una prospettiva di autonomia/supporto della vita quotidiana; -collabora, con intervento indiretto, alla mobilitazione delle risorse della comunità in cui l'utente stesso vive. Tale figura professionale opera: negli ospedali, nelle strutture protette per disabili o anziani; nelle case di riposo, nei servizi di assistenza domiciliare diretta ad anziani, nuclei familiari in difficoltà; nei servizi per persone con handicap; nei centri di pronto intervento per persone in difficoltà e a rischio di emarginazione; nelle comunità alloggio per minori con disabilità O per tossicodipendenti; nei centri diurni per anziani.
